Is the speed limit on some of our open roads too high?

From Checkpoint, 5:36 pm on 5 June 2019

A Transport Agency tool, Mega Maps, has found the speed limit on 87 percent of roads is higher than what is deemed the safe travel speed. It suggests the speed should be as low as 60 on some open roads, and 30 or 40 kilometres per hour in cities. And local community leaders are on board with that idea despite claims that it could put the brakes on the economy.
