Man who fell from moving car was mental health client

The man who died on Auckland's Southern Motorway yesterday was a client of a company providing mental health services.

He fell from a Framework Services vehicles being driven by a staff member near Ellerslie train station.

The man had been with other clients in the back of the unlocked van. 

The chairperson of Framework Services Fuimaono Tuiasau said he was very deeply saddened and some staff had taken stress leave.

Mr Tuiasau said there was no indication that the man was agitated or at risk.

Framework said it would review its policies and cooperate with the police investigation.
