Surgeon describes rush to save four-year-old gunshot victim

Christchurch Hospital staff said two men with glass wounds ran through the front door of the emergency department to tell staff there had been a shooting and to expect more patients. They went on to receive 48 patients in less than an hour, with one surgeon breaking down as he described treating a four-year-old girl who had been shot in the pelvis.
