Parents told long pants for kids too expensive

Dozens of parents are pushing for long pants to be part of the uniform at Owairoa Primary but to date they've been turned down on the grounds that the item would be too expensive. They say their children are shivering in shorts or culottes in winter and told reporter Jessie Chiang they don't understand why.
