This week's critter celebrates the blossoming kōwhai that mark the start of spring. The kōwhai moth (Uresiphita maorialis) produces hordes of very hungry, bright green or orange caterpillars that get so excited about munching kōwhai leaves they can quickly strip the branches down to twigs
