Topics - Halloween's popularity is soaring in New Zealand. But the imported tradition is proving a scary prospect for some. It's not a Spring Festival it's an autumn one, it's derived from another culture etc. A Dunedin council committee is deciding whether to allow a school fair to serve beer and wine from a tent. Today's hearing was held after the Medical Officer of Health for the first time used a new alcohol law to oppose the fair's liquor licence.
