The role of banks in NZ housing market

From Afternoons, 1:20 pm on 16 April 2021

Is it really a conversation in Aotearoa at the moment if no one mentions housing? We spoke yesterday with Dr. Dennis Wesselbaum from Otago University who is worried about the level of intervention being made by Government in monetary policy. But there are lots of levers at play on such an inflated market and the actions of the banks are important too. Dr. Michael Rehm from the University of Auckland Business School is worried about the banks' motivations and he joins me now in the Auckland studio.
