A First World War centenary Lecture organised by Te Papa and the German Embassy, in which Professor Jörn Leonhard of Freiburg University offers an historian's perspective on the way the First World War redrew the world map, comparing multi-ethnic empires with nation-states and examining the roles of ethnic struggles and separatist nationalism.
