New human rights data for Pacific nations

From Pacific Waves

New data about the human rights performance of countries including the Pacific nations has been released this week.

The Human Rights Measurement Initiative is a global project to track the human rights performance of countries.

This year's Human Rights Tracker gives scores on up to 13 different human rights contained in United Nations treaties, for around 200 countries.

The 2021 Rights Tracker scores for Papua New Guinea include some positive scores, but also some strikingly poor results.

Thalia Kehoe Rowden from the Human Rights Measurement Initiative to talk about the scores with Sela Jane Hopgood.
