This week marked fifty years since six young Pacific Islanders met in central Auckland to form the Polynesian Panther Party.
They were inspired by the United States' Black Panthers... militant and grassroots-driven with the same purpose of fighting racial justice.
The Panthers couldn't have celebrated their golden jubilee any better than with the news of a formal Government apology for the Dawn Raids... an immigration policy that terrorised the lives of Pasifika in New Zealand.
