Climate forecast worrying for Pacific fisheries

From Pacific Waves

The World Meteorological Organisation says there is a 90 percent chance that next five years will be the warmest on record.

In its latest climate predictions, released last week, the organisation also said that the annual average global temperature could reach 1.5 degrees above the pre-industrial level within the same period.

The head of the oceanic fisheries program at the Pacific Community or SPC, Graham Pilling, says this has huge implications for the Pacific tuna fishery.
