Fiame dismisses Tuilaepa's accusations ahead of legal challenge

From Pacific Waves

Samoa's incoming Prime Minister, Fiame Naomi Mata'afa, has dismissed accusations thrown at her FAST party by her predecessor, Tuila'epa Sa'ilele Malielegaoi.

FAST's 26 MPs were swore in Monday on the lawn outside Parliament after Tuila'epa orchestrated the locking of parliament's doors.

On Tuesday Tuila'epa called the swearing in treasonous and said the judiciary, which has ruled in FAST's favour since the political standoff began, was biased.

Samoa's Attorney-General has filed a complaint with the Supreme Court which has set down a hearing for Thursday at noon.

Don Wiseman spoke with Fiame Naomi Mata'afa who says Tuila'epa likes to throw around words like treason.
