The Supreme Court in Samoa has dismissed a request by the Attorney General's office to have a motion from the opposition FAST party struck out.
The FAST party is challenging a decision by the electoral commissioner to appoint a sixth woman to parliament, to meet a provision in the constitution that requires 10 percent of seats be held by women.
It comes as two parties, tied at 26 seats each, battle to become the new government of Samoa.
