A new report by Human Rights Watch highlights 60-years of racial discrimination by Indonesia against Indigenous Papuans including torture and arbitrary arrests.

The report says the Indonesian government denies Papuans basic rights.

Papuan children can not acquire adequate education because the government has failed to recruit teachers.

Health services are also inadequate, Papua provinces have higher infant mortality rates and in some instances are close to 12 times higher than rates in Jakarta.
