A group of lawyers in Tonga have petitioned the King to remove newly appointed chief justice Malcolm Bishop because of his sexuality.
Sodomy is listed as a criminal act in the kingdom.
The petition which RNZ Pacific has obtained says because Mr Bishop lived in a "sodomous relationship" with his partner for 51-years, so it is wrong for him to come to Tonga as chief justice.
