An inaugural 'Pride Week' will be held in Rarotonga, celebrating one year since the Cook Islands decriminalized same-sex relations.

Prior to the decriminalisation on April 14th, 2023, homosexuality was punishable by up to five years in jail.

RNZ Pacific's Tiana Haxton spoke to leading pride figures in the community to talk about the historic law change.
