The opening ceremony of the 52nd Pacific Islands Forum Leaders' Summit has been held in the Cook Islands.
Leaders and high-level delegations from 18 member states are in Rarotonga along with dialogue partners including the US and China also in attendance.
RNZ Pacific's Lydia Lewis spoke with Pacific Waves host Susana Suisuiki ahead of the ceremony.
