With the stage now set for the 52nd Pacific Island's Forum Leaders' summit there is a buzz around the main island, especially at the bustling Punanga Nui Markets.
The marketplace will not only be a magnet for tourists this week but hundreds of delegates as well.
RNZ Pacific's Eleisha Foon is also in Rarotonga and spoke to locals about the gathering and what it means to them.
