In what Papua New Guinea's minister of Internal Security, Peter Tsiamalili, called a 'truly significant event', a PNG Defence Force barge on Wednesday morning delivered aid for the Bougainville communities affected by the eruption of Mt Bagana.
Mt Bagana erupted three weeks ago displacing several thousand people living at the foot of the volcano, while ash and sulphuric gases have polluted a wider area.
