Doctors without Borders or MSF have started their first Pacific project in Kiribati working with the government to identify and address gaps in the country's health system.

The project was initiated last year to prepare the country for an outbreak of Covid-19 particularly in the area of critical care.

Joining me is Alison Jones MSF medical coordinator who was part of the initial exploratory team to Kiribati looking at what assistance would be most useful.

Kia ora and welcome on Pacific Waves Alison, maybe as your organisation is a relatively new player in the Pacific region you could start by explaining a bit more about it.
