Moana Pasifika coach Aaron Mauger is optimistic about hitting the ground running as a new franchise.
New teams have traditionally been slow to excel in Super Rugby, but Mauger says the closeness of his squad will hold them in good stead.
Moana Pasifika play their first warm up match against the Chiefs at Mt Smart stadium this Friday night.
Speaking to media on Wednesday Mauger said they have had a great build up and are champing at the bit.
