The Cook Islands government is being urged by some of its citizens not to reopen the country's borders in January.
Around 300 protestors marched to the office of the prime minister and cabinet on Tuesday local time calling for a rethink of the government proposed reopening on the 13th of January.
One of the main speakers at the protest was the leader of the Cook Islands United Party, Teariki Heather, who says the country's healthcare system is barely able to cope with existing illnesses let alone an outbreak of Covid.
He joins me now, Kiaorana Teariki, maybe starting with the protest tell me more about who attended and what you are calling for?
