From , 6:00 am on 3 December 2021

Preliminary census results in the Marshall Islands are showing a dramatic decline in the country's population.

At the last census in 2011 the country's population was 53,158.

This year's census which started in August is about 95 percent complete and the preliminary figures are showing an alarming decline.

Our correspondent in the Marshalls Giff Johnson joins me now. Kia ora Giff so what are the figures we have so far showing?
