As Papua New Guinea looks to made more of its agricultural potential, the growing of cocoa is likely to be front and centre.

But first the quality of the cocoa and the returns to the farmers have to be improved.

That is the focus of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation, the FAO.

The agency is working across PNG - right now in West and East Sepik.

Cocoa provides financial support for up to two million people across PNG, so the returns are hugely important.

The deputy programme co-ordinator for the FAO in PNG, Dr Pavel Burian, spoke with Don Wiseman, who began by asking him why cocoa production hasn't been what it should be.
