Pacific project encourages open democratic structures

The fight against corruption in the Pacific is being boosted by a new partnership between the United States and the Pacific Community (SPC).

Project Governance will provide small grants to civil society organizations in 12 Pacific Island countries to support local initiatives and supply technical assistance on government transparency, accountability, and corruption prevention.

It aims to strengthen good governance efforts and ownership while drawing on local knowledge and understanding.
