Cook Islands tourism revival affecting iconic lagoon

The return of New Zealand tourists to the Cook Islands has residents in Rarotonga stewing over the impact its having on the island's iconic Muri Lagoon.

A lagoon spokesperson claims 90 percent of Muri's many hotels and resorts rely on sewage systems not fit for purpose in preventing chemical and microbe contamination.
