Survivors of abuse from the Pacific community are giving evidence before the Royal Commission of Inquiry into Abuse in Care this week in Auckland.

The public hearing started on Monday at the Fale O Samoa in Mangere.

One survivor of state care abuse, told the commission it cost him his cultural identity and another shared how turning to the arts helped him share his experiences and reach out to other survivors of violence.
