Samoa head of state defies court order to convene parliament

To Samoa, where moves by the Supreme Court to solve the ongoing electoral impasse have been subverted yet again in a late night decree by the Head of State.

In a televised address, Tuimaleali'ifano Va'aletoa Sualauvi II, reprimanded the court claiming it had no authority over him.

He disregarded the court's call for parliament to meet by July 5th, instead calling for it to sit in a month's time.
