Calls for Solomon Islands not to forget NGOs during Covid-19

From , 6:01 am on 12 March 2021

The Solomon Islands government is being urged not to forget community based organisations in its Covid-19 pandemic response.

Since May last year the government has been rolling out its $US37.5 million economic stimulus package to help Solomon Islanders cope with the economic fallout from the Covid-19 pandemic.

However as a new Budget cycle approaches there are calls for the government to look beyond just economic support.

Our Solomon Islands correspondent Gina Kekea has been speaking to people in the community as part of our ongoing series on the Pacific one year into the pandemic and joins me now.

Welkam Gina so what was it like in Solomon Islands this time last year?
