Bougainvilleans have a reputation for innovation.
This came to the fore during the region's horrific civil war with the Papua New Government, forcing the rebels having to be more resourceful.
Now, as Bougainville strives to develop its economy, there is a push to re-awaken this inventiveness as Don Wiseman reports.
