With borders still closed and no end to the Covid-19 pandemic yet in sight, Fiji is concerned its only tourism lifeline, the Blue Lanes initiative will also be impacted.

The chief executive of Port Denarau Marina in Nadi says the boating season starts when the cyclone season ends in April.

Cynthia Rasch says  the majority of yachts are coming through New Zealand and French Polynesia.

But with the increased cases of Covid-19 recorded in New Zealand and Tahiti's border closed, Fiji is concerned its maritime tourism is under threat.
