Pro-independence groups in New Caledonia's government are yet to reach a consensus on who will become the next president of the French Territory.
This is after an historic shift last week in the balance of power when the Congress of New Caledonia elected a majority-pro-independence government, holding six out of the 11 ministerial portfolios, for the first time in decades.
A meeting to elect a new president was expected today but the FLNKS told RNZ Pacific it is not happening as there is still no agreement on a presidential candidate.
