High hopes for first American Samoa repatriation exercise

There are high hopes for the success of the first American Samoa repatriation exercise since the start of the pandemic.

Since March last year almost 2000 American Samoans have registered for repatriation and just after midday on Tuesday local time the first group of 159 returning residents touched down in Pago Pago on a flight from Honolulu.

But our correspondent in American Samoa Monica Miller says even for those fortunate enough to make the cut it has not been an easy journey.
