The promise of honey production in Papua New Guinea

From , 5:00 am on 16 December 2020

Papua New Guinea has a huge future as a honey producer but it will take effort and support to achieve this.

That's the view of Southern Cross University researcher, Cooper Schouten, who says while there has been an industry in PNG for some time, it could be much bigger, offering landowners the opportunity to add another source of income that complements a lot of what they are already doing.

PNG is part of one of the most biologically diverse islands in the world and Mr Schouten told Don Wiseman this is a key factor in why the country has so much promise as a honey producer.
