Lack of awareness, stigma hinder HIV fight in Pacific: UNAIDS

From , 5:01 am on 4 December 2020

UNAIDS Pacific says this makes it difficult for those who are newly diagnosed to accept their HIV-positive status.

The agency says HIV/AIDS has always been seen as a death sentence, but points out that technology and science have allowed people with HIV to live a long, healthy life, just as any other chronic disease.
