From , 5:01 am on 18 November 2020

The highest-ranking female in Fiji's military says women face huge challenges in service to their country.

Colonel Litea Seruiratu is calling for more acceptance and understanding between male and female soldiers on missions.

Her comments come following the army's recent announcement it is testing a gender integration policy in a bid to meet United Nations targets.

But as Christine Rovoi reports meeting the UN threshold for female personnel is not the only challenge facing the military.
