Melanesian musicians use mobile phones to reach audience

Mobile phones have become an increasingly significant tool for producing and sharing music in Melanesia.

James and Roslyn Koisen are a musical duo based in Papua New Guinea's Milne Bay province, performing under the moniker Jay & Roz.

They have been particularly productive during the recent months of the pandemic, and spoke to RNZ Pacific from Alotau about sharing their music via social media, and artists helping the local tourism industry get through its covid-19-related struggles.
