Pacific governments are being urged to prioritise an economic recovery that also tackles the climate crisis.
The pandemic has stalled parts of the economy such as the aviation sector, temporarily reducing their greenhouse gas emissions
But climate activist Patricia Mallam, of 350 (Three-fifty) Pacific, says this reduction needs to be sustained when economies are revived.
She says government bailouts to industries like transport, energy and aviation should instead be channelled towards averting climate disaster.
