Aim to give a voice to the voiceless over PNG sorcery violence

From , 6:03 am on 6 August 2020

Using sorcery as an excuse for violence is a crime against humanity, according to the Bishop of Mendi in Papua New Guinea, Donald Lippert.

He says there are still frequent accusations of sorcery being used to justify violent attacks, despite the PNG parliament making such attacks capital offences seven years ago.

Bishop Lippert with other church groups is on Monday, August 10th, marking International Day Against Sorcery Related Violence, under the banner, a Voice for the Voiceless.

He spoke with Don Wiseman about the need for others to step up and speak up for the victims.
