Papua New Guinea authorities are scrambling to contain a covid-19 outbreak in PNG's capital where most of the country's over 60 confirmed covid cases to date were registered in the past two weeks.

The acting Health Secretary Paison Dakulala said that all active cases were being isolated, while the covid-19 joint agency  task force team had been conducting contact tracing for these cases, and preparing for more testing.

However of particular concern is that a high number of the new cases come from staff at Port Moresby General Hospital or people who have been there.
