The struggle to overcome horrific Covid-19 figures in the Marshallese community in the US state of Arkansas is front of mind for a medical professor at the University of Arkansas.

The Marshallese community in northwest Arkansas, which numbers about 15,000, has so far lost 30 people to the virus, while hundreds more have been infected.

The death rate among the Marshallese in the region has been put at 12 times the overall rate.

Dr Sheldon Riklin, who is himself Marshallese, spoke with Don Wiseman, who began by asking him why their community has suffered disproportionately.
