Elation at reinstatement of USP vice-chancellor

From , 5:01 am on 23 June 2020

Life is beginning to return to normal at the University of the South Pacific in Fiji after weeks of protests by students, staff and regional governments following the suspension of Vice Chancellor Pal Ahluwalia.

Professor Ahluwalia was suspended by the executive committee of the USP Council over alleged misconduct.

But at an emergency meeting on Friday, the council found due process was not followed in the decision to suspend him and reinstated the Kenya-born academic.

Christine Rovoi reports.
