NZ covid-19 border slip-up highlights 'unfair' system

An organisation advocating for Pasifika in New Zealand says a border bungle which resulted in the country having two active cases of Covid-19 last week is inexcusable and highlights an unfair system.

Two women who arrived from Britain were granted compassionate leave to drive from Auckland to Wellington without first being tested for the coronavirus, and have since tested positive.

The Pacific Leadership Forum say this is an example of a system that is selectively compassionate.
