From , 5:00 am on 13 March 2020

The first full season of Global Rapid Rugby kicks off this weekend with teams from Fiji and Samoa hoping the competition can be a springboard for players pushing for higher honours.

Six teams from Australia and the Asia-Pacific region will play home and away over the next three months, with one million Australian dollars in prize money up for grabs, although games will no longer be played in China due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Talei Anderson spoke with the Fijian Latui and Manumā Samoa teams ahead of the opening round.
