Solomon Islands launches new guidelines for counsellors

Solomon Islands has become the first country in the Pacific to launch domestic violence counselling guidelines.

The guidelines are part of a national framework outlining systems and processes required for counsellors to be registered.

A policy co-ordinator with the Ministry of Women, Youth, Children and Family Affairs  Koisau Sade spoke with Sela Jane Hopgood about how the guidelines will benefit victims and survivors of domestic violence.
