Women growers aim to increase Samoa's bee population

From , 5:01 am on 4 March 2020

The Samoa Women's Association of Growers, or SWAG, wants to encourage more people to keep bees.

The organisation says the bee population in Samoa has fallen, which poses a threat to agriculture and horticulture throughout the country.

SWAG is being assisted by the government and the United Nations Development Programme to help people become apiarists and increase the number of hives in Samoa.

Mele Mauala of SWAG told Don Wiseman about her work.
