Radio New Zealand's plan for a new music service, targeting 18 to 34 year-olds including Māori and Pacific audiences, have triggered questions about what the plan could mean for another state funded broadcaster the Pacific Media Network.
PMN currently runs a radio station targeting Pasifika youth.
RNZ's board says the new plan is part of its charter obligations to provide a public media service for all New Zealanders.
