Tuvalu receives World Bank grant quickly after Cyclone Tino

The World Bank has granted Tuvalu $US6.2 million to help it recover from Cyclone Tino just two weeks after the January storm.

The Bank's representative in the Pacific, Lasse Melgaard, says governments must meet certain criteria to be eligible for the grant.

These include development of an asset management framework or a disaster response mechanism.

Mr Melgaard told Christine Rovoi Tuvalu was able to access the money quickly after the disaster.
