New hub to help Pacific countries meet climate commitments opens

From , 5:02 am on 11 February 2020

An initiative to help Pacific countries meet their global climate commitments opened its headquarters last week in Fiji.

The regional 'Nationally Determined Contributions Hub' is central to the Pacific's intention to lead the world in curbing carbon emissions and building climate resilience.

It supports 15 Pacific countries and is administered by the German development agency in partnership with the Pacific Community.

The Hub's Friederike Eppen says her job is to help Pacific countries realise bold commitments to reduce their carbon emissions.
