An Australian human rights advocate is voicing protest at some local media's refusal to cover West Papua issues.
Anthony Craig, who is based in the New South Wales town of Lithgow, is a former nurse who has worked with asylum seekers from Timor Leste.
He's also visited informal settlements in Papua New Guinea, where West Papuan refugees who fled the neighbouring Indonesian-ruled region reside.
Hoping to highlight their plight, Mr Craig raised funds to bring a pair of the refugees over to Lithgow for a public event, but told Johnny Blades he was frustrated when a local television network refused to cover it.
